Social Welfare — SC / ST / OBC / Minorities
Reservation hike · Airavata · Ambedkar Fund · Backlog vacancies · Caste census · Scholarships
The Karnataka government has pushed SC reservation to 17%, ST to 7%, and OBC at 32%, taking total reservations to 56% — already breaching the Supreme Court's 50% cap. The Karnataka HC in November 2025 restricted fresh recruitment under the enhanced SC/ST quota pending constitutional review. The promise of 75% total reservation faces major legal hurdles and requires 9th Schedule inclusion, which needs Centre's approval. Status: partially in progress, legally contested.
